Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is rare cancer that affects the lining of the lungs and chest cavity. It is caused by exposure to asbestos fibers over time. Asbestos was once commonly used in construction materials due to its durability and fireproof qualities. However, it was later discovered that asbestos causes mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer. There are two types of mesothelioma; pleural mesothelioma and peritoneal mesothelioma. Pleural mesotheliomas occur in the pleura (the membrane surrounding the lungs) while peritoneal mesothelial cells line the abdominal cavity.

Compensation

Compensation refers to the act of paying someone else's medical bills. In the case of mesotheliomas, compensation refers to the payment of medical expenses for those who have been diagnosed with the disease. Compensation is often paid out of a trust fund set up specifically for this purpose. If a person dies before receiving compensation, their family members may receive compensation instead.

Trust Fund

A trust fund is a financial account where money is placed for future use. A trust fund is created when a person donates to a charity. Donations are then deposited into the fund and held until they are spent. Once the funds are spent, the remainder goes back to the donor.

Medical Bills

Medical bills refer to the costs associated with treating a disease or injury. These costs can be incurred by insurance companies, hospitals, doctors, and other healthcare providers.

Family Members

Family members are people related to the patient. They include parents, siblings, children, grandparents, and grandchildren.
